Victor, the owner. He meets you at home, prepares your estimate and is on site several times a week during construction. Plumbing, electrical and other specialized work is done by licensed trades he schedules and supervises. You'll have his direct number from the first meeting to the final walkthrough.

Yes. Your in-home consultation, follow-up meetings and written estimate are all free. If your project needs architectural plans or engineering, those are quoted separately.

At the first visit, Victor works with you on a 3D layout of your new kitchen, and your estimate comes with a rendering of the proposed design so you can see the direction. Everything up to the point you decide to move forward is free, however many times we meet. If your new layout needs an engineer, for example to remove a load-bearing wall, that's quoted separately.

Your proposal is a detailed written scope of work. It lists the work in each area, and the price covers the labor and rough materials. Finishes like tile, fixtures and the vanity are usually chosen and bought by you. If you’d rather Chic buy them, the proposal sets an allowance for each item, for example tile up to a set price per square foot. It also includes a payment schedule tied to completed stages of the work.

Yes. Victor helps you pick tile, fixtures, cabinets and other finishes that suit your space and budget. When you buy them yourself, he can often get you better pricing through his vendor accounts.

After a down payment limited by California law to $1,000 or 10% of the contract price, whichever is less, you pay in stages as each part of the work is completed, following the schedule in your contract. Any change or added work is written up with its cost as a change order, and it needs your signed approval before it starts.

Your proposal includes an estimated timeline based on the work involved. Before work starts, the main materials are ordered and delivery dates confirmed, so the job doesn't stop halfway waiting on cabinets or tile. If you're buying some materials yourself, Victor gives you the date each item needs to be on site, and the schedule follows those deliveries. If something outside our control comes up, such as a permit delay or a back-ordered item, Victor lets you know right away and updates the schedule.

Yes. For kitchen and bathroom remodels, Chic submits the permit applications and handles the process. For projects that need architectural plans or engineering, Victor can refer you to architects and engineers he works with, or coordinate with your own. Their fees are paid directly by you.

Victor keeps you updated as the work moves along. When he's on site, he goes over the progress with you in person and answers your questions. When you're not home, he sends progress photos. You can reach him directly by call, text, WhatsApp or email during business hours. For an emergency on your active project, you can reach him outside regular hours too.

New inquiries are typically answered within one business day. Once you're a client, Victor returns your calls and texts within three hours during business hours. If he can't respond right away, he's usually meeting with another homeowner and giving them his full attention, the same attention you'll get when he's with you.

We focus on complete kitchen, bathroom and whole-home remodeling. We also build ADUs, garage conversions, room and second-story additions, and custom homes. We don't take on small repairs, single-item replacements or insurance-claim work.

Yes. Chic Design & Remodeling, Inc. holds California contractor's license #1107987 (Class B, General Building), and carries a contractor's bond and liability insurance. You can check the license and bond anytime on the Contractors State License Board website, cslb.ca.gov.
